One of the things that spoke to me from the sermon was the reference to Psalm 127:1
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
God as the one who builds our house.
We work endlessly to keep up with our modern lives - busy, relentless, sometimes going nowhere lives. We work to keep our houses running, our homes beautifully created and kept, our families happy and safe. We work to build safe spaces for our people.
But it would not be a warm, safe space if not built by God. Every little brick in our homes should be laid by God; He is our Master Builder, Architect, Protector and Provider.
How blessed are we that the majesty of He who created the endless heavens and the verdant earth, the mighty mountains and the vast oceans, would be the Builder of our humble homes. What grace we receive! The God who creates entire worlds loves us so much that He chooses to protect our tiny worlds and the small, struggling, often pretentious lives in it.
It is solely by His generous love and mercy that we stand safe and sleep without worry in the homes that God has built. All our worries and troubles are laid at His feet. He is in total control.
Hebrews 3: 4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
If you are someone who feels dejected, hopeless, and desperate for connection, know that the Hands that made the heavens made you too. You are valued far more than them. God is building you one day at a time. Allow Him to create His masterpiece. Let Him in.
