“Hear, O people of Gerasenes, "Listen to my cry for help, I cry day and night in the hills and tombs, the chains that once bound my hands and feet I've once again broken loose, I cut myself with stones ...I have bruises all over my body, save me before it's too late, I feel hopeless, lost and confused. I’ve lost my serenity, I do not know my Name for I'm tormented by the legion who has confused my Identity.
The Nameless Man
This is the story of this demon possessed man in Mark 5:1 to 20
Alone, lost, abandoned, hungry, naked and confused was this man who had no one to feed him, clothe him, warm his cold nights with fire or show him light in the dark. He had probably lost all hope of being saved but when he met Jesus, everything was restored.
When Jesus asked this Man, "What is your Name?" He said "My Name is Legion, for we are many."
Have you wondered why the first question Jesus asked him was about his NAME? The Man addresses himself with pronouns such as ‘we’ and ‘us’ which seems strange.
I see a strong similarity here with this whole gender neutral pronouns these days, addressing an individual as they / them, ze/zir, xe/xem and so on. Some people identify themselves as animals, birds and non-living things which breaks my heart.
The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy but his strongest weapon right now is to bring chaos into the minds of people, confuse their Identity and manipulate them because he knows that when people stand strong in the truth, that their Identity Is in Christ, nothing can shake them.
So, stay on guard and pray without ceasing.
