Suffering is often seen as a separate event or occasion in man’s life that does not have any significance. When we understand suffering as a punishment for the misdeeds, sinful nature, a curse, then we lose the essence of the purpose of suffering which can be read in Hebrews 12:10; to be partakers of HIS holiness.
When we understand suffering as a chastening process and not a punishment by a loving Heavenly Father, then we will joyfully yield ourself to be chastened that produces the fruit of righteousness [right standing with God and a lifestyle and attitude that seeks conformity to God’s will and purpose] Heb 12:11 AMP.
